Holiday Lighting Ceremony December 8, 2024
On December 8th, 2024, we had a beautiful, special holiday lighting ceremony. Many joined in the celebration including Council Member Vickie Paladino who sponsored the event.
We were honored to have our firefighters join us to commemorate Timothy Welty, a NYFD firefighter victim of 9/11 and to have Timothy’s mother Adele and brother Chris join us on this special day.
Preparation
Preparing for our Christmas Tree lighting: Special thanks to the efforts of Vickie Paladino’s office, Captain Joseph Canale, Lt Mike O’Connell, Parks Dept, FDNY Ladder 144 and so many others involved in installing the lights on our beautiful Blue Spruce donated by Adele and William Welty to memorialize their son Timothy.
